Uzbekistan has introduced a 30-day visa-free regime for Indian citizens, marking a significant step in strengthening tourism and bilateral ties between Uzbekistan and India.
The announcement was made by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Uzbekistan on August 30, 2026.
The new visa-free policy is expected to make travel between the two countries more accessible and encourage greater tourist flows, business exchanges, and people-to-people connections.
The announcement comes as part of a broader Uzbekistan–India Tourism Cooperation Programme for 2026–2028, which aims to expand tourist exchanges, develop joint tourism projects, and strengthen cooperation between the two countries.
Uzbekistan and India are also connected by 14 direct flights per week, further supporting increased travel between the two destinations.
